How-To Grow Guide

Dahlias are cold-sensitive and should only be planted after all danger of frost has passed in your area. Once planted, do not water your tubers until the sprouts are at least two inches tall—this helps prevent rot while roots establish. Dahlias thrive in full sun (at least 6 hours per day) and well-draining soil. If you’re in Zone 7 or colder, be sure to dig up your tubers in the fall, as they are not frost-tolerant.

We hand-dig, cure, and visually inspect each tuber for signs of gall and to verify that each one has at least one viable eye, so you receive only healthy, high-quality tubers that are ready to grow.
